Breathwork Event Details

What to Expect

Breath is quite literally the link between your mind and your body and is “the” channel we use to bring needed energy and nourishing oxygen into the body to do every task required. Breathwork uses the power of breathing to tap into peak performance and a growth mindset, and sets the stage for releasing limiting beliefs, old patterns and anxieties.

The type of Breathwork offered for the classes by The Art of Sound Healing use a full-body 3-part circular breathing method that is designed to take you to a profound emotional space. When you breathe in this class, you pull about 80% of the breath into your belly and 20% into the chest, then release the breath easily, effortlessly, and completely through the mouth. Breathwork helps break our habit of disconnecting with ourselves and reconnects the mind, body, and spirit to the present moment through our breathing in the most profound way.

While listening to a well-designed playlist, you will breathe rhythmically and deeply into the abdomen and chest, then release your breath and continue this pattern for about 30 minutes. You are deeply expanding the body with this type of deep breathing, and the extra oxygen helps to detox our cells and organs. Breathwork helps to release deeply-trapped negative emotions and feelings, and transforms your mindset from a SURVIVE mentality to a THRIVE mindset. Breathwork quite literally helps to align and release everything holding you back from living the life of your dreams.

If you struggle with fear, anxiety, depression, fatigue, insomnia, grief, emotional pain, feelings of “not being good enough,” or you perhaps just long for greater inner peace, Breathwork is a valuable tool to have in your pocket.

What is Gong Healing & Why is this Offered Together?

Like breathwork, sound immersion in particular harmonic vibratory frequencies can help to balance and calm the nervous system, the body and the mind—as well as relieve tension and remove stress from the body.

The sound frequencies from the Gong help to create deep relaxation, and have been scientifically shown to change brainwave states, bringing the heart and brain into more coherence. Laying in a sound bath can expand self-awareness and leave you feeling renewed, rejuvenated, and more at peace.

How is the Gong Used?

The gong is used in both Sound Healing and Breathwork modalities, and it’s a fantastic tool that helps clear out old patterns, blocks, and emotions to bring in new manifestations and intentions. At the end of the Breathwork exercise, there is an opportunity to release additional tension and emotion using the gong—and the gong is played at the end of the class to help clear out any unwanted or remaining tension and emotion, making room for whatever the student wants to create and manifest.

The Breathwork and Gong experience is about letting go and allowing the breath and the sound take you to a deeper place. The Breathwork allows you to explore and identify what a meditative state is and how it feels, while the Gong is used to help reach a deeper meditative state. Because of this, the combined Breathwork and Gong experience is beneficial for both beginners and seasoned meditators, and is guaranteed to help you experience a state of relaxation and bliss.
